The project "KRAS-CARSO II - Joint Management and Sustainable Development of the Classic Karst Area" was approved by the Programme Monitoring Committee, by its written procedure no. 7 concluded on 27 April 2023.
KRAS-CARSO II is one of the three projects of strategic importance envisaged by the Programme, the main objective of which is the establishment of a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) "Kras Carso". This will work in full agreement with the local authorities, acting in line with the sustainable development of the classic Karst at cross-border level. The project intends to contribute to the sustainable development of the cross-border functional area of the Karst Classical Karst by supporting the slow tourism industry, building on the experience gained in previous Interreg projects.
The project's lead partner is Območna razvojna agencija Krasa in Brkinov d.o.o. (Regional Development Agency Karst and Brkini) in partnership with 12 other partners - 6 Slovenian and 5 Italian - in addition to 13 associated partners.
The KRAS-CARSO II project has an ERDF budget of EUR 3.5 million and a duration of three years. The project is scheduled to start on 1 January 2023.
