The two-year project Circular Rainbow, funded under the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme, was one of the exhibitors at the 30th Spring Agricultural and Craft Fair Komenda 2025, held from April 11 to 13, 2025, at the Komenda Hippodrome in Slovenia. The fair hosted 600 exhibitors from across Slovenia, creating an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and the promotion of sustainable solutions in agriculture and aquaculture.
The Circular Rainbow project was showcased together with the Interreg Italy-Slovenia BeBlue – Beyond Bluegrass project, led by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, in collaboration with KGZS – Zavod KR. The shared exhibition and demonstration space provided a unique opportunity to exchange data and methodological approaches between the projects, strengthen scientific cooperation between Slovenia and Italy, and promote innovative approaches to sustainable aquaculture.
At Komenda 2025, the Circular Rainbow project presented innovative and sustainable solutions for trout farming, based on recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and the circular economy, digitalization, energy efficiency, and the production of biogas from aquaculture wastewater. Our booth attracted over 40 participants interested in sustainable fish farming, energy efficiency and digital innovation, as well as the potential for biogas production from aquaculture wastewaters.
