In November 2024, a technical meeting of the partners of the Interreg Italy-Slovenija project Circular Rainbow was held at the headquarters of the partner Bluefarm srl in Mestre. During the meeting dedicated to the development of the RAS energy model, technical issues crucial for the project's progress were addressed.
Main points discussed:
• Stationary approach: It was decided to assume an initial steady-state operation of the system, in order to simplify calculations, focusing on algebraic equations.
• Application of the model: The proposal of an application on a weekly basis, linked to the mass balance model, received unanimous support.
• Development phases:
First phase: use of the indoor temperature as an input variable.
Second phase: consideration of the outside temperature, which is fundamental for the techno-economic analyses in WP2.
• Preliminary tests: These will be carried out during the activation of the biofilter, to verify the accuracy of the model.
During the meeting the participants defined a solid initial structure for the model, while leaving room for future refinements based on the experimental data that will be collected at the University of Udine's indoor pilot plant. Special thanks to all for their valuable contributions.
