CLIMASAFE: Call presented for SMEs interested in assessing climate and energy risks

On 6th of May 2026, the CLIMASAFE project held the online event “What climate risks does your company face?”.

The meeting marked the launch of the project’s pilot activities, which will offer selected companies the opportunity to access an energy assessment and receive personalised recommendations on possible mitigation and adaptation measures.

Climate risks, energy and the CERI index

During the event, it was highlighted that extreme climate events, such as heatwaves, floods, intense rainfall and periods of severe cold, can increasingly affect business activities. Understanding the level of exposure and identifying potential vulnerabilities in advance can represent an important advantage in terms of resilience and competitiveness.

A central part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of the Climate-Energy Risk Index CERI, which combines climate hazard, energy exposure and the company’s adaptive capacity to help businesses identify critical issues and define intervention priorities.

In addition to the index, the CLIMASAFE digital platform was presented. Through the platform, company data collected via questionnaire will be combined with information on local climate risks, providing operational recommendations.

What the call offers and how to participate

Participation requires a limited time commitment: selected companies will be asked to complete a questionnaire or, if they prefer, take part in an online or in-person interview lasting a maximum of 30 minutes.

The call is aimed at SMEs located within the Programme area. In Italy, companies based in the Province of Venice and in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region are eligible to apply. In Slovenia, eligible companies are those located in areas with a high concentration of industrial activities, namely: Primorsko-notranjska, Osrednjeslovenska, Gorenjska, Obalno-kraška and Goriška regions.

The target sectors are production activities characterised by a high dependence on electricity and significant exposure to the impacts of climate change.

Interested companies can apply by 30 June 2026 by completing the online application form.

Fill in the form.

Read the call rules.
