During the Monitoring Committee meeting of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme, held on 21 April in Lignano Sabbiadoro, the CLISHE (Climate Shelters) project was presented to a broad audience of institutional stakeholders, including representatives of the European Commission and national and regional authorities from Italy and Slovenia.
The session offered a concise overview of the project’s objectives, progress, and initial findings. Project partners — Università Iuav di Venezia and Prostoroz — highlighted ongoing technical and participatory mapping activities. These focus on strengthening Lignano’s potential as a “climate shelter city” through urban green infrastructure and targeted support for vulnerable groups. The
Municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, acting as lead partner, hosted the meeting, with additional contributions from Primorski Technological Park and CAVV – CSV di Venezia.
The presentation was followed by a visit to the pilot site identified for the future activation of a climate shelter. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to present the project’s approach, exchange perspectives, and gather strategic feedback from key stakeholders involved in shaping future cross-border cooperation initiatives.
