On Friday, 29 August 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the Slovenian Cultural Centre in San Pietro al Natisone will host a key event within the ITINERANT project.
Titled “Creation, Structuring and Implementation of Forest Therapy Stations in Benečija”, the meeting will feature a rich programme of presentations from experts from Italy, Slovenia, and Japan. The discussions will explore the benefits of forest therapy, share international experiences, and highlight the potential of this approach for promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing quality of life in the Julian Alps.
What is forest therapy?
Forest therapy is a well-being practice that involves guided immersion in natural environments—particularly woodlands—to encourage relaxation, reduce stress, improve mood, and boost the immune system. A growing body of scientific research confirms that extended contact with nature can bring measurable benefits to both physical and mental health, making it not only a pleasant experience but also a valuable preventive health tool.
This event marks an important step in a wider journey which, over the coming months, will bring innovative initiatives to the region, aimed at enhancing its natural and cultural heritage with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and quality of life.
The event will be held in Italian, Slovenian, and English, with simultaneous translation provided.
