From the Rilke Trail to the Divača cave, from the Timavo springs to the historic center of Štanjel: an authentic itinerary accompanied content creators @coinqui_croccanti in discovering the Kras/Carso area, as part of the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Strategic Project Kras–Carso II, co-financed by the European Union.
The experience began in an osmica, among local flavors and conviviality, a symbol of Karst authenticity, then continued to the springs of the Timavo River, through nature, geology, and legends, up to the cliffs of Duino with a panoramic walk along the Rilke Trail.
On the second day, the group tried their hand at climbing the majestic cliffs of the Val Rosandra, visited the Bora Museum, and ended the day with a cooking class featuring Karst flavors.
On the third day, the group cycled across the cross-border Karst, riding through rocky landscapes and rural villages until reaching Lokev, where they enjoyed a lunch with traditional Karst dishes, a truffle hunt, and the Štanjel Wine Festival experience, before returning by organized shuttle.
The final morning was dedicated to the majestic release of the Lipizzaner horses, followed by a visit to the Divača Cave, a last lunch in the Karst, and a walk to the enchanting udornica Risnik, before returning.
An experiential journey between Italy and Slovenia, designed to convey – with lightness and spontaneity – the strength of a territory that knows no borders, where nature and culture intertwine into a single, extraordinary identity.
