In the green surroundings of Lignano Sabbiadoro’s coastal pine forest, FRESCO offers much more than protection from the summer heat. The new climate shelter is also a welcoming place for meeting, learning and experiencing nature together.
Throughout the summer and at different times of day, FRESCO hosts guided walks, storytelling sessions, workshops and creative activities for visitors of all ages. During the hottest hours, the shelter reminds us just how valuable shade and greenery are for our health and well-being. At other times, its programme reveals the broader purpose of climate shelters: they can also become lively cultural and community hubs.
Through activities that encourage participants to discover, understand and respect the natural environment, FRESCO brings the CLISHE vision to life. Climate shelters are not merely spaces offering relief from extreme temperatures, but places where environmental protection, culture, learning and community come together.
FRESCO is located at Rotonda No. 4 along the Ge.Tur. pedestrian and cycling route in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Participation in the activities is free of charge, with prior registration required.
