Within the H2READY project, a methodology, or “roadmap”, for the development of hydrogen solutions has been prepared. Its purpose is to assess current and future hydrogen needs with a long-term perspective up to 2035, providing an important basis for planning the energy transition and the gradual introduction of hydrogen technologies at local, regional, and cross-border levels.
The methodology is based on European guidelines and uses an adapted set of indicators for the integration of hydrogen solutions, developed on the basis of key energy indicators and Eurostat databases. The indicators are adapted to the local specificities of the pilot areas and serve as a basis for assessing the readiness of territories to introduce hydrogen technologies.
Special emphasis is placed on the analysis of hydrogen demand, the identification of infrastructure gaps, and the definition of priority investments in infrastructure and knowledge.
The roadmap aims to provide a solid foundation for the preparation of strategic and investment plans that will support the long-term development of sustainable hydrogen infrastructure and the energy transition.
