The HeatIslands Adapt project was presented at the annual EMS Conference (https://ems2025.eu/), which took place from 7 to 12 September in Ljubljana. This is the key European event in the field of meteorology and climatology, featuring numerous sessions dedicated specifically to communication and public engagement.
During the conference, the Segnali dal clima in FVG award was also presented, made possible through the cooperation of scientific and research institutions within the “Gruppo di lavoro tecnico-scientifico Clima FVG”.
The project received significant international recognition, winning the EMS 2025 Outreach & Communication Award, a prize for awareness-raising and communication presented by the European Meteorological Society. On this occasion, ARPA FVG presented the HeatIslands Adapt project at EMS.
The project was further promoted through two related events: a workshop on biometeorology (Weather and Well-Being: Communicating Biometeorological Knowledge for Public Health) and a public event held at the University of Ljubljana.
