On Monday, 7 October 2024 from 9.00 to 13.00, more than 70 students from elementary schools from the Posočje region (Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin, Most na Soči, Podbrdo) and from the bilingual school from Špetro/San Pietro al Natisone gathered at the Kolovrat Open Air Museum.
In the framework of the WalkofPeace+ project, the event involved cross-border cooperation between primary schools to raise young people's awareness of the heritage of the First World War and to bring stories from the letters of the soldiers of the Soča Front to stimulate reflection on peace.
After the guided tour and the reading of the letters, students had the opportunity to participate in poetry, art, photography, literature, ethnology and history workshops on the theme of the Walk of Peace.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme.
