From  November 20th to 22nd 2024, the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme took part in the 7th INFORM EU network meeting, held in Seville and promoted by the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission. The event brought together communication officers from EU co-financed programmes with the goal of sharing ideas, tools and good practices to make European communication more effective, innovative and closer to citizens.

During the session Unleashing the Power of Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI)”, the Programme presented its experience in managing three Operations of Strategic Importance. In addition to showcasing the main activities of the so-called “extra strategic projects”, #movingITA-SLOwly and #CROssingITA-SLOwly, the Programme highlighted its active support to beneficiaries in achieving tangible and strategic results, through tools, training, guidance and visibility.

A particularly innovative aspect, strongly underlined during the presentation, is that the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme was the first to launch “extra” OSIs, not just born from formal planning: this vision enabled structured collaboration between the three OSI projects, synergy with other projects and Interreg programmes, and the creation of a cooperative and inclusive working model.

Throughout the event, the team also took part in several workshops focused on the use of Artificial Intelligence in EU programme communication: digital tools, persuasive writing techniques with AI, personalized storytelling, and strategies to enhance message impact for different audiences.

Participation in the event represented a valuable opportunity for exchange with other European communication professionals, and a chance to further strengthen the Programme’s strategic communication approach.

✨ “We came back from Seville with new ideas, new digital tools and lots of inspiration on how to make our communication even more strategic, collaborative and effective for our projects.”
— Claudia Ferluga and Nastja Foraus, Interreg Italy–Slovenia communication team
