Within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, an important international event entitled “OSP Interreg Italy–Slovenia: Synergies and Complementarities Uniting Europe” took place on 16 and 17 April 2026 in Grado (Italy). The event was aimed at strengthening cross-border cooperation and fostering links between strategic projects of European cohesion policy.
The presentation highlighted the importance of integrated management of the Karst, the involvement of local stakeholders, and the development of sustainable solutions that contribute to the preservation of the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
A special part of the event was also a study tour in the Kras–Carso Geopark, where participants visited the northern part of the geopark and learned about its geological features, interpretation points, and approaches to sustainable tourism. The tour provided direct insight into the challenges and opportunities of managing a transboundary geopark.
The event represented an important platform for the exchange of good practices among Interreg programmes and for discussing future synergies after 2027.
