Representatives from the Department of Wood Science and Technology, Biotechnical faculty, University of Ljubljana attended the 21st annual meeting of the WSE – Northern European Network for Wood Science and Engineering (7–9 October 2025, Växjö, Sweden), which brings together researchers in wood science and sustainable construction.
At the meeting, Eli Keržič presented the research “Influence of Harvest Time and Storage Duration on the Quality and Fungal Degradation of Hardwood and Softwood Logs”, conducted as part of the WoodInnovate project at the wood warehouse of Snežnik d.o.o. in Kočevska Reka. The study shows that harvest time and storage duration significantly affect wood quality and provides insight into the development of smart systems for detecting wood decomposition and supporting the sustainable use of wood.
