The second Open Day of the MEDS GARDEN+ project took place on 9 October in the Friul Garden of the Opera Sacra Famiglia Foundation in Pordenone.
The stars of this day were the fruit plants of ancient varieties that have enriched the garden thanks to the project's funding. These included 10 different varieties of Apple (‘Zeuka’, ‘San Pietro’, ‘Delizia Antica’), Pear (‘Brute e Bone’, ‘Spadona’), Plum (‘Cespa di Clastra’, ‘Brombul Franceis’), Cherry (‘Durone del Breli’, ‘Santa Barbara’) and Fig (‘Moro di Caneva’).
Visitors were also able to appreciate the autumn vegetables, aromatic plants, and typical plants of the magredi, which the Friul garden is home to flourishing, accompanied by expert gardener and plant grower of ancient fruit plants.
