On Friday, 12 December 2025, a working meeting was held within the BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes project, bringing together representatives of Ljudska univerza Ajdovščina, the Municipality of Vipava and the Municipality of Savogna d’Isonzo.
At the meeting, we discussed the Twinning Agreement between the two municipalities. We jointly reviewed the draft agreement and provided comments, additions and revisions to ensure that it is appropriate and well aligned with its purpose. We started from the already established good relations and previous cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture and sports, through exchanges of associations and organisations, as well as within joint projects. We also highlighted shared natural and spatial connections, with special emphasis on the Vipava River as an important common reference point and a key element of the identity of the wider cross-border area.
Based on this background and with the intention of strengthening, developing and upgrading existing cooperation into a long-term partnership for the benefit of both local communities, the two municipalities aim to conclude a Twinning Agreement. We are pleased to be part of this twinning story, as we see strong potential for further cooperation and the development of shared initiatives in the cultural, sports, tourism, educational and economic fields.
