On Thursday, 11 December 2025, the town of Izola, Slovenia hosted the presentation of the cross-border strategy for a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive literary tourism offer. The event was organized within the framework of the DANTE project, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia programme.
The presentation began with introductory remarks and a welcome speech by the Lead partner Municipality of Izola, followed by the main topic – the strategy that connects Slovenia and Italy in the development of literary tourism and the cross-border literary route DANTE. The aim of the strategy is to establish sustainable and resilient approaches that enable the involvement of local communities, cultural stakeholders, and the creation of innovative tourism products linked to literary heritage. After the presentation, a lively discussion took place, during which participants exchanged views and suggestions for the next steps. The event concluded with networking over refreshments, providing an opportunity to strengthen connections among partners and stakeholders. In the coming months, the strategy will be updated based on feedback gathered during the presentations for Italian stakeholders in Italy, with the goal of preparing the final document that will serve as the foundation for the development of the action plan.
The presentation was held in Slovenian, as two parallel presentations in Italian will take place in the Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions in January 2026.
