On August 12th, 2024 the Managing Authority of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme has signed the financing contract of the standard project BLUECRAB.
Project BLUECRAB intends to protect the area of the Upper Adriatic Sea threatened by the invasive blue crab, through a monitoring system and a sustainable management of this alien species. The project intends to involve institutions, fishery operators and local communities in the protection of marine biodiversity and in supporting fishing activities. The objective is to mitigate the harmful effects of the blue crab invasion as well as to facilitate a process of knowledge dissemination and mutual co-ordination between Italy and Slovenia.
Lead Partner of project BLUECRAB is Confcooperative Unione Regionale del Veneto in collaboration with 5 project partners and 5 associated partners.
