The partners of the strategic project KRAS-CARSO II took part in the event dedicated to the future of sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean – "Paths that last", held under the umbrella of the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM). This initiative brings together nine different Interreg programmes operating in the Mediterranean area. The goal of the mechanism is to create a shared space for cooperation, where knowledge, experiences, and results of various programmes addressing similar challenges can be exchanged. The MMM enables better alignment of strategies, fosters synergies and capitalization among projects, and supports the development of joint solutions that have a lasting and broader impact across the Mediterranean region.
The event, which took place in Split, brought together more than 200 representatives of projects, institutions, and programme bodies from the Mediterranean area involved in Interreg programmes. In addition to numerous expert panels, the two-day event offered workshops focused on the co-management of heritage and natural environments, the responsiveness of tourism offers to community needs, the inclusion of youth and vulnerable groups, and the use of digital tools for the interpretation and management of tourism.
The gathering was an excellent opportunity for networking with other projects implemented across the Mediterranean, comparing approaches, identifying shared challenges, and exploring innovative solutions.
