On Monday, 11 May 2026, the opening of the 18th edition of the “Charm of Wood” exhibition was held at Cankarjev dom. The exhibition once again impresses visitors with a diverse selection of wooden products and examples of best practices in wood use. Open until Sunday, 17 May 2026, it highlights the importance of wood as a natural, renewable, and locally available material that plays a key role in the transition to a low-carbon society.
Visitors can also view the awarded products from the “Wood for All” competition, organised by the Department of Wood Science and Technology and co-organised this year by the WoodInnovate project. Through this collaboration, the project promotes the creative use of wood among young people, raises awareness about the importance of sustainable materials, and strengthens the connection between the education sector and the Slovenian wood industry. Special emphasis is placed on the use of wood that has lost its market value due to the impacts of climate change, encouraging innovative approaches to its reuse.
