The Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme is pleased to announce that applications are now open for REGIOSTARS 2026, the annual competition organised by DG REGIO since 2008. Over the years, REGIOSTARS has become the European label of excellence for EU-funded projects that clearly demonstrate the impact and inclusive value of cross-border cooperation.
Taking part in REGIOSTARS represents an important opportunity for visibility, networking and recognition. The Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme therefore encourages beneficiaries to consider submitting their projects in order to show that the area between Italy and Slovenia is also capable of developing innovative initiatives with a strong impact at European level.
In 2026, projects will compete in five categories, in line with the priorities of cohesion policy:
A competitive and smart Europe
A green Europe
A connected Europe
A social and inclusive Europe
A Europe closer to citizens
Applications must be submitted via the online form available on EUSurvey by May 22nd 2026. Beneficiaries are kindly requested to inform the Programme representatives about their application by writing to info.itaslo@regione.fvg.it
The winners will receive the official award in Brussels in October 2026 during the European Week of Regions and Cities, one of the most important European events dedicated to cohesion policy and territorial development.
