As part of the AidMIRE project, Izola General Hospital successfully organized four internal workshops. The first two, titled "Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Insertion Using Ultrasound Guidance," were designed for doctors, while the other two, "Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Insertion Using Ultrasound Guidance," were tailored for nursing staff.
Each workshop covered the fundamentals of ultrasound examination, included demonstrations of various tissue structures on a volunteer, and provided hands-on practice in central venous catheter insertion using ultrasound equipment. Participants used an ultrasound machine and two specialized training models, both acquired by Izola General Hospital through AidMIRE project funding. The workshops were developed and led by Dr. David Hrovatin, MD, specialist.
A total of 25 doctors and nursing staff attended the workshops. Additional sessions are planned for autumn 2025.
