The first phase of the support pathway provided by the BioTech2Agri project for companies selected to receive the Innovation Coin has been successfully completed.
Service 1 involved 26 selected SMEs — 12 Italian and 14 Slovenian companies — united by a common strategic goal: introducing innovative biotechnological solutions into their production processes in the agri-food sector.
With the support of sector professionals, each company benefited from a structured pathway that included a preliminary analysis of the business context, technical meetings with project experts, and the drafting of a pre-feasibility report. This represented a fundamental first step in assessing the technical, applicative and strategic potential of project ideas developed in the field of biotech applied to agri-food.
This activity marks an important milestone in the BioTech2Agri journey, which aims to foster the uptake of innovation in the agri-food sector across Slovenia, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, strengthening cross-border collaboration and the dissemination of advanced technologies.
The results of Service 1 will serve as the foundation for the project's subsequent phases, which include support for business model development, guidance on funding opportunities, and participation in cross-border networking events bringing together companies and experts from the Italy-Slovenia area.
