The BioTech2Agri project is moving forward in its support pathway for small and medium-sized enterprises in the agri-food sector, with the launch of Service 2 – Business Model Development, as part of the Innovation Coin mechanism.
On 20 May, Venetian Cluster organised a workshop for the selected Italian SMEs, bringing together companies from Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto for a participatory working session focused on the development of the Business Model Canvas. Building on the project ideas already assessed through Service 1 – technical pre-feasibility analysis, the companies worked alongside the project team to explore the applicative and commercial potential of their biotechnological solutions, translating the outcomes of the technical phase into a first business strategy hypothesis.
The Business Model Canvas serves as the key tool of this phase: a strategic map that enables companies to define their value proposition, identify target market segments, and build stronger foundations for future investments and access to funding opportunities.
The process does not end with the workshop. In the coming weeks, Venetian Cluster will meet with companies in tailored one-to-one sessions, to further develop the business model in line with each company's specific needs. Similar activities are being planned for Slovenian SMEs, in keeping with the cross-border cooperation approach that lies at the heart of the project.
BioTech2Agri, co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, continues its commitment to bringing agri-food SMEs from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Slovenia closer to the opportunities offered by biotechnologies, supporting them through an integrated pathway of innovation, sustainability and competitive growth.
