From Technical Potential to Market Strategy: BioTech2Agri Service 2

The BioTech2Agri project is entering a key phase in its support pathway for small and medium-sized enterprises in the agrifood sector in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, and Slovenia, with a focused approach on the economic sustainability and market positioning of the innovative solutions developed.

Following the technical feasibility assessment carried out under Service 1, the project now moves into an equally strategic phase: Service 2 – Business Model Development Support, part of the Innovation Coin mechanism.

Service 2 supports selected enterprises in the evaluation and development of a business model concept capable of concretely sustaining the identified development pathway, building on the results achieved during the technical phase.

Through a structured and tailored process, companies work together with project experts to develop a Business Model Canvas, enabling them to focus on:

  • the value proposition,
  • customers and target market segments,
  • key partners,
  • key resources and activities,
  • distribution channels,
  • cost structure and revenue streams.

For the participating SMEs, the Business Model Canvas is not merely an analytical tool, but a true strategic roadmap, helping them understand how to transform an innovative idea into an economically sustainable and market-ready solution.

This service enables enterprises to:

  • verify the coherence of their innovative idea with the market context,
  • identify development and positioning opportunities,
  • build stronger foundations for future investments and access to funding opportunities.

Service 2 is part of an integrated pathway that will continue with further support activities, guidance on funding opportunities, and cross-border networking initiatives, strengthening cooperation between enterprises and experts across the Italy–Slovenia area.

The BioTech2Agri project, co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, aims to bring SMEs closer to the opportunities offered by biotechnology, fostering the development of innovative, sustainable, and competitive solutions for the agrifood sector.
