With the online meeting on 7th March 2025, the second evaluation phase of the STUDENTS4COOPERATION high school competition came to an end. The teams were asked to present their project idea with a video or PowerPoint presentation. After listening carefully to the presentations of all teams, the jury decided on the winners of the competition, namely the team from 4th class ESABAC of the Liceo linguistico Scipio Slataper of the Istituto superiore Dante Alighieri in Gorizia with the project LET'S JOIN - I.S.Y. Italian and Slovenian youth. In second place was the team from 4th class of the Znanstveni licej Simon Gregorčič from Gorizia with the project DOSLA - Dobrodelni slavček. Third place went to the I.S.I.S. Nautico ‘Tomaso di Savoia Duca di Genova - L. Galvani’ team from Trieste with the project INSIEME - Iniziamo Noi Scuola Isola Ecologica Modello Ecosostenibilità.
The winners of the competition will be awarded in Gorizia on 27th March 2025 as part of the Interreg GO! conference. The first-ranked team will have the opportunity to visit European institutions and learn about their functions during a study visit to Brussels. While the second and third-ranked teams will, thanks to the project Kohezija za vse: brez meja / Coesione per tutti: senza confini implemented by the cultural association PiNA, visit the Programme Area and learn about the results achieved by projects funded by the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme.
It was inspiring to hear the ideas and proposals of the young people from the Programme Area, who addressed a wide range of challenges in the cross-border area in their project ideas. As the Managing Authority of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme Laura Comelli emphasised, ‘it is important that young people get involved and take every opportunity they are given to make their voices heard’.
