The GO PLAY – Games without Borders project promotes cross-border cooperation between Italian and Slovenian communities along the border. It strengthens culture and social inclusion. The project aims to improve access to quality sports and cultural facilities, encourage active leisure time, and develop the social and organisational skills of young people. The project involves the restoration of public infrastructure, such as the Sport centre in Šempeter–Vrtojba, as well as the courtyard of the Civic Centre in Lucinico, and combines this with cross-border socio-cultural activities. These include sports tournaments, games and treasure hunts, concerts, dance performances, and co-creation events. These activities foster social cohesion, inclusion, civic engagement and collective well-being, ensuring a lasting positive impact on the area and enhancing infrastructure and community relations on both sides of the border.
