Project summary

The GOmini project aims to raise awareness of the small green and aquatic environments, which are often overlooked yet essential for biodiversity. The project aims to promote environmental awareness, inclusive bilingual education and active citizen participation, particularly among younger generations. Key activities include cross-border guided tours exploring microenvironments, observing nature with digital microscopes, collecting audio-visual material, and creating a nature documentary and publication. Integrating science, art, and community involvement, the project promotes sustainable tourism and the protection of natural and cultural heritage. Residents, schools, NGOs and tourism institutions will be directly involved, contributing to the conservation of local ecosystems and strengthening the cross-border identity of the area.

Objectives

The direct impacts of the project will include increased visibility and social value of small living environments, the production of audiovisual material and a publication, greater awareness of local biodiversity and the importance of nature conservation, increased participation of residents in scientific research, and the promotion of sustainable tourism. Residents, schools, local communities, non-governmental organisations, and tourism institutions will be the direct beneficiaries of the results, which will contribute in the long term to a better understanding and preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the cross-border area.
