On Sunday, 26 October 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., the inauguration of the Ermada/Grmada open-air museum took place on the Slovenian side. The initiative, organized by the Municipality of Komen, project partner, was held in Brestovica pri Komnu. The event was part of the 28th Walk along the Trails of the Isonzo Front, a hike of approximately 14 kilometres through places of great historical value.
After the welcome from the mayors of the municipalities of Komen and Duino-Aurisina, Erik Modic and Igor Gabrovec, the 300 participants began the cross-border walk, along which they were able to observe various remnants of the Great War.
The day then continued with members of the IR 17 history circle and the historical-cultural group “I Grigioverdi del Carso”; the reenactors brought to life scenes from the everyday life of soldiers on the Isonzo front.
The day marked the conclusion of the week of events dedicated to the inauguration of the Ermada/Grmada open-air museum.
