The Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia - Central Directorate for Infrastructure and Territory, as Lead Partner and the Regional Development Center Koper, as host partner, had organized the Kick-Off Meeting of the strategic project ADRIONCYCLETOUR funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Territorial Cooperation Program 2021-2027, which was held in Koper on Thursday, February 16th, at the Praetorian Palace (seat of the Municipality) in Tito Square 3.

 

The event was preceded by a press conference starting at 2:30 p.m. and was the opportunity to present the partnership, share objectives and expected results, and to effectively plan jointly structured activities for the next three years.

 

The project, with a total budget of 4,375,000.00 Euro, of which 3,500,000.00 Euro co-financed by the ERDF, represents a significant and relevant opportunity to implement the strategic goals of defining the Adriatic-Ionian Cycle Route, developing from an infrastructural and sustainable tourism point of view, including at the macro-regional EUSAIR level, the Adriatic Sea cross-border coastal bicycle route in Italy (Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto) and Slovenia, including its main bike connections with hinterland areas, in accordance with the relevant EU guidelines, through the increase of intermodality (bike-boat, bike-train, bike-bus) with cross-border nature.

In addition to the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Regional Development Center Koper, PromoTurismoFVG, VeGAL - Development Agency of Eastern Veneto, BSC - Business Support Centre - Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska, Soča Valley Regional Development Agency and the Municipality of Kobarid make up the partnership.
