The DATIS project partners are pleased to announce the final event of the project DATIS – Digital Pioneers of Accessible Tourism, which will take place on 19 May 2026 at the Grand Hotel Entourage in Gorizia, Italy.
The event, entitled “Accessible Tourism Begins with Accessible Information”, will present the key results of the DATIS project and open a discussion on the importance of digital accessibility for inclusive tourism in the cross-border area between Slovenia and Italy.
The programme will include presentations of the main project findings, including research on the needs and experiences of persons with disabilities in tourism, digital and physical accessibility analyses, the DATIS Accessible Tourism Strategy, guidelines for more accessible tourism communication, and the DATIS web database.
A central part of the event will be dedicated to a stakeholder discussion on co-creating accessible tourism. Users, user organisations, researchers, tourism organisations and project partners will discuss experiences from the DATIS pilot activities, the needs identified during the project, and possible next steps for improving accessible tourism in practice.
The event will highlight that accessible tourism begins with accessible, understandable and reliable information, and that long-term progress requires cooperation between all relevant stakeholders.
The organisers will strive to ensure an accessible event.
Simultaneous interpretation between Slovenian and Italian will be provided.
Interpretation into Slovenian and Italian Sign Language will also be available.
