The presentation explores the role of design and 3D printing as practical tools for developing prototypes, testing solutions, and evaluating new technologies before embarking on more structured production investments. Drawing on the experience of the Design and 3D Printing Hub of TEC4I FVG, it will show how hands-on experimentation helps reduce risks, development time, and costs.

Subsequently, the opportunities offered by guided experimentation pathways in advanced microscopy techniques will be presented; this activity represents a fundamental tool for analyzing materials, surfaces, and prototypes. Based on the TEST BEFORE INVEST model, the network established within the ALL-MICRO Project, co-funded by the Interreg VI Italy–Slovenia Programme, supports companies, institutions, and public–private entities in improving products and processes in an effective and measurable way.

Speakers: Selina Rosset (TEC4I FVG), Elena Sandri (TEC4I FVG), Gabriele Baj (University of Trieste)
