On 27 November 2025, in Vipolže, Goriška Brda, at Villa Vipolže, the second final conference of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia IRRIGAVIT project will take place. The event will be dedicated to presenting the main results of the project, exchanging professional experiences, viewing the two videos produced during the year, and a roundtable discussion on the project’s developed guidelines and issues related to water management in vineyards, including reflections on recent floods caused by heavy rainfall with serious consequences in the area (Brda, Colli Orientali).
Members of the six project partners and policy makers will attend (ERSA – Regional Agency for Rural Development of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia) as well as representatives of associated partners.
IRRIGAVIT, developed as a capitalisation project of the previous ACQUAVITIS, promoted resilience and sustainability strategies in the vineyards of Colli Orientali del Friuli and Brda by developing innovative irrigation and soil management protocols, demonstration trials, and training activities. The collaboration between research institutions, public administrations, and consortia strengthened cross-border cooperation and facilitated knowledge transfer in the wine sector.
The event, organised by RRA Severne Primorske, the University of Udine, and local partners, will include technical sessions, presentations of results, a roundtable discussion, and local wine tasting, providing opportunities for exchanges between researchers, winegrowers, and policy makers.
Main Agenda:
• Institutional greetings and project introduction
• Presentation of the project videos “Vine and Water” and “Grapes and Wine”
• Experiences in vineyard irrigation and soil management
• Roundtable: from analysis to vineyard irrigation strategies
