We invite you to a short (30 min) webinar on the TORRENT project and measures to reduce the risk of torrential rainfall with a case study in the Krvavec area, which will take place on Thursday, 18 July 2024 at 9.00 am in Slovenian. The TORRENT project promotes the adoption of common strategies to improve the management of watercourses and protect infrastructure, property and lives in vulnerable regions of Slovenia and Italy.

Programme:

  • Introduction to the TORRENT project (doc. dr. Vesna Zupanc)

The TORRENT project aims to establish common transnational guidelines for monitoring and maintenance of torrent control infrastructure. These are essential for planning the management of increasingly frequent extreme weather events, especially in vulnerable regions of Italy and Slovenia.

  • Lecture: Expert opinion on risk reduction measures in the event of heavy rainfall - the case of the Krvavec area (izr. prof. dr. Nejc Bezak)

This short presentation will present measures for a comprehensive solution of the torrential problem in the torrents below Krvavec and the experience in the event of the 2023 floods.
