WORKSHOP
Tartini's music and its reinterpretations in contemporary genres: from rock to electronic

17 March 2025
10:00-12:00 e 13:00-15:00
Piran-Pirano, Tartini House

The workshop, organized by the Italian Union based in Koper as part of the TARTINI BIS project, will be introduced by musicologist Margherita Canale. She will guide students from the Italian and Slovenian elementary schools of Piran-Pirano in discovering the figure of Giuseppe Tartini and his music, including a contemporary reinterpretation of his works.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore new soundscapes with Maestro Tommaso Luison, a violinist and expert in Baroque music, who will present his experimental reworkings. During the interactive session, students will engage in the creation of electronic music using synthesizers and technological equipment. The interactive stations will be presented by Andrej Rojec, who will guide participants through the possibilities offered by the available instruments and software.

The event will also feature an interview with Proteus Noir, a cutting-edge music producer and live performer, focusing on musical experimentation, unconventional techniques, and a discussion of his performance on March 8th during the Tartini Electronic event.

This initiative aims to foster a dialogue between tradition and innovation, sparking curiosity in a young audience and making Tartini’s music more accessible and relevant today.
