From 12 to 13 May 2025, Chiara Vecchiato from the Managing Authority and Andreja Grom from the Joint Secretariat, both colleagues from the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme, took part in the ceremony held in Salzburg to mark the 25th anniversary of the Interreg Alpine Space Programme. The event provided an important occasion to reflect on the opportunities of broadening cooperation across transnational spaces and to look with determination toward the future of the Alpine region.
The first day featured institutional speeches and testimonies from key projects of Alpine cooperation, including Eurac Research and INRAE. Participants shared insights and results achieved through interregional collaboration, with a forward-looking perspective focused on sustainability, innovation, and resilience.

On the second day, the third call for standard projects (classic projects) under the Interreg Alpine Space Programme was officially launched. The call is open to public authorities, universities, research centers, NGOs, and businesses located in the Alpine area, including Slovenia and several Italian regions such as Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto.
The funded themes include:
Climate change and territorial resilience
Circular economy and natural resource management
Digital transformation for sustainable development
Multilevel governance and social inclusion
We invite beneficiaries and partners of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme to take advantage of this opportunity to:
Bring cross-border experiences into a broader transnational dimension
Strengthen transnational cooperation networks
Actively contribute to building a more sustainable future for the Alps
