On May 11, 2024, the 3rd Regalnica (European tree frog inventory) took place, this time as part of the ENGREEN 2 project. The inventory was conducted with the help of citizen science, and as many as 78 enumerators took part in it. First of all, we presented the ENGREEN 2 project, the inventory procedure, the results of previous years and the characteristics of the European tree frog in the Promotion and Congress Centre in the Škocjan caves Park. The participants were given a few more instructions and then went to the field.
23 groups searched the area of Karst, Brkini and Slovenian Istria in the evening and night hours. Among the 140 locations, we confirmed the European tree frog in 20 places, which is less than in previous years. We assume that the tree frog has not been so active due to the lower temperatures.
