The meeting provided an opportunity to share activities and experiences developed by the two projects and to identify interesting complementarities. AI-GRAPE is developing solutions that integrate field data, satellite data, drone surveys, automatic pest traps, machine learning and artificial intelligence to improve predictive models and Decision Support Systems (DSS) for vineyard pest management. AGRI-DIGITAL GROWTH, through its Living Labs and the expertise of CREA Viticulture and Enology, brings complementary experience in precision agriculture, field experimentation and the agronomic validation of technologies.
The main synergies identified include the exchange of methodologies and know-how, the comparison of approaches to data collection and validation and DSS, as well as potential further cooperation on the monitoring of Scaphoideus titanus and Flavescence dorée.
Another important area of common interest concerns the initiatives that both projects are developing to bring together producers, companies, researchers and other stakeholders in a collaborative network, promoting knowledge exchange and continued cooperation beyond the end of the project activities.
The meeting represents a first step towards new opportunities for cooperation and greater capitalisation of the results developed by the two European projects.
