On Thursday, October 10th, a study visit took place in the vineyards of Vinakoper in Koper, involving all agricultural companies, their agronomists, field technicians, and the IT partners of the AI-GRAPE project (Primo Principio Coop and ZRS).
During the field visit, the following cross-border technical discussions took place regarding the monitoring and phytosanitary protection of the three target pests of the project (Scaphoideus titanus, Eupoecilia ambiguella, Lobesia botrana):
- Historical situation in the field;
- National/regional regulations on phytosanitary protection;
- Monitoring techniques adopted by the companies;
- Design and simulation of the AI-GRAPE field monitoring protocol to be applied in experimental vineyards starting in 2025;
- Roundtable discussion on the desired functionalities by end-users for the AI-GRAPE forecasting software and DSS (Decision Support System), currently in the design phase.
It was a stimulating exchange, even for staff with decades of experience in the sector, as continuous training is essential for ongoing improvement.
