The Kick of Meeting Press Conference of the AidMIRE project was held on 22nd November 2023. The project was launched within the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Cooperation Programme.
Azienda Sanitaria Universitaria Giuliano Isontina is the Lead Partner of the project and will collaborate with four project partners: Azienda ULSS 3 Serenissima-Venezia Mestre, Splošna bolnišnica Izola- SLO, Zdravstveni dom Sežana - SLO and Zdravstveni dom Izola-SLO. The project aims to develop the governance of cross-border cooperation and to improve the response to the needs of the population by the public health systems of the two States through the promotion of legal and administrative cooperation.
AidMIRE capitalizes on the results of the NEX AID project in order to strengthen the management of health emergencies with joint partner solutions and to give a broader territorial and operational scope to the protocols signed at the end of the NEX AID project. Further Slovenian territorial facilities will be involved.
AidMIRE was launched to meet the needs of managing a major health emergency event and treating patients with poly-trauma in a cross-border area where the health systems are organized and provided differently. Specifically, over the course of two years, the protocols will be adapted and updated, adapting them to the wider area taken into consideration by this project. Furthermore, facilities and equipment already in place for interventions in the event of a major cross-border emergency will be improved.
In order to offer adequate medical services for events, various professional training courses are planned for medical and nursing staff as well as an event dedicated to the simulation of a maxi-emergency (catastrophic event with a massive number of people involved and injured). The latter will involve all subjects participating in the project located in the area of interest.
