The Art of Cooperation (ArtCo) 2025 conference took place on 2–3 December 2025 in Budapest, opening at the Museum of Ethnography, and concluding with a conference dinner at the renowned Gundel Restaurant.
The event brought together experts, national authorities, managing authorities, and territorial cooperation practitioners from across Europe to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the post-2027 Interreg period. Among the participants were Laura Comelli, Managing Authority the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, and Aljoša Sosol, from the Joint Secretariat.
The conference agenda addressed key themes shaping European Territorial Cooperation, including:
the new European legislative package;
overcoming legal and administrative obstacles in cross-border cooperation;
capitalisation and the long-term use of project results;
Interreg’s contribution to candidate countries.
A highlight of the event was Workshop 3, titled "Turning results into policy: Capitalisation for the future". Laura Comelli contributed her expertise, explaining how cross-border project results can be leveraged over time to generate lasting impact at territorial, institutional, and political levels.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue between European institutions, national authorities, and local practitioners, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that projects do not remain one-off initiatives but become tools for sustainable and structural impact on the ground.
