As part of the European project RE-ACTIVE — Strengthening Civil Society Participation through Culture in Climate Risk Management for Cross-Border Governance — a Call for Support of Cultural Projects has been published, aimed at promoting awareness-raising initiatives on climate change. The call has been prepared by project partner ATS-CZS PROJEKT (led by the association EUPRO).
The call has a total budget of €45,000.00, with individual grants ranging from a minimum of €8,000.00 to a maximum of €10,000.00 per project, funded at 100% of eligible costs.
What is funded
Eligible for funding are cultural initiatives aimed at raising civil society awareness of climate change and promoting community resilience through creative and artistic approaches. Funded activities include: theatre, music and audiovisual events; exhibitions and multimedia installations; thematic visits and experiential trails; workshops and educational laboratories; editorial and digital products; didactic materials including those for primary and secondary school students. Particular value is placed on initiatives that contribute to reducing climate anxiety and to strengthening communities' capacity to face critical events with greater awareness.
Who can apply
Applications may be submitted by public bodies, associations, foundations and other private non-profit entities, as well as local tourism and cultural associations (pro loco) with their registered office or operational address in the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, whose statutes provide for the exclusive or predominant pursuit of cultural activities. Participation is permitted on an individual basis only, with a single application per entity.
Deadline and submission
Applications must be submitted exclusively via certified electronic mail (PEC) to projekt.ats.czz@pec.it by 10 May 2026 at 12:00 noon, using the relevant forms available on the ATS PROJEKT website. Funded projects must be completed by 31 October 2026.
A key requirement: all funded projects must comply with the principle of bilingualism — every public event and every piece of material produced must be delivered in both Italian and Slovenian.
The RE-ACTIVE project and partnership
This call is part of the pilot action of the RE-ACTIVE project, which provides for the implementation of three cross-border calls — two in Italy and one in Slovenia — to fund cultural initiatives dedicated to climate resilience across the Italy-Slovenia programme area.
The RE-ACTIVE project is led by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia as Lead Partner, with the following project partners: Unione Italiana (Koper), Kulturno izobraževalno društvo PiNA / Associazione per la cultura e l'educazione PiNA (Koper), and ATS-CZS PROJEKT (Trieste).
