The BEST project’s Pilot Actions have officially begun; these are support programmes designed to assist the selected businesses in developing and strengthening the project ideas they submitted during the application phase.
The activities involve six businesses – three Italian and three Slovenian – all united by the goal of contributing to the development of a more cross-border, sustainable and innovative tourism sector. Through specialist consultancy, discussion and practical tools, the businesses will be able to work effectively on their proposals.
The programme focuses on three main areas: Marketing, Business Model Canvas and Innovation Catalyst. These tools will enable the companies to reflect on their development model, communication strategies, the positioning of their offering and the innovative elements needed to make their projects more effective and consistent with BEST’s objectives.
Practical support for businesses and the local community
The Pilot Actions represent a significant milestone in the project: they transform the submitted ideas into structured work programmes and offer businesses the opportunity to strengthen their skills, refine their project proposals and develop new partnerships.
This is not a theoretical exercise, but practical support tailored to the needs of the selected organisations. Work on marketing, the Business Model Canvas, the Innovation Catalyst methodology and cross-border networking will help businesses move from idea to implementation, strengthening their capacity to innovate and collaborate with other local stakeholders.
The value of the Pilot Actions therefore extends not only to individual companies but to the entire local tourism ecosystem. Citizens, economic operators, institutions and communities can benefit from a more integrated, sustainable approach that leverages the border as a resource.
BEST: the border as an opportunity for growth
Through the Pilot Actions, BEST reaffirms its commitment to supporting a more connected, creative and sustainable form of tourism. The project promotes a vision in which the border between Italy and Slovenia is not a barrier, but an opportunity to build networks, trial new services and make the region more attractive.
The selected businesses thus become key players in a process that combines innovation, operational support and cross-border collaboration, contributing to the development of concrete solutions for the future of local tourism.
