During the event, the BEroots project was officially presented, along with its goal of stimulating the development of sustainable and cultural tourism in the project area. Representatives from all six project partners were present, each of whom explained their role and the activities they will carry out. The municipality of Vipava, the lead partner, will oversee the restoration of the House Zdravljica in Podnanos (Slovenia), which will become a tourist point dedicated to the life and works of Slovenian composer Stanko Premrl. The municipality of Savogna d'Isonzo will create two rest areas in Rupa and Malnišče, which will also serve as commemorative points in honor of the poet Franjo Rojc. A tourist route (cycling path) will also be developed along the Vipava river, connecting the two municipalities.
The Adult Education Centre of Ajdovščina will organize training courses for tour operators, creating educational and tourism products such as treasure hunts for schools, families, and seniors. GAL Venezia Orientale will organize excursions in Veneto, exploring locations tied to lesser-known artistic figures such as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ernest Hemingway and Luigi Russolo. The Slovene Regional Economic Association will organize events in Italy to promote the project’s results and sustainable tourism in the cross-border area. Office for tourism TRG Vipava will produce a brochure dedicated to lesser-known local artists and will organize events in Slovenia to further promote these artists and the territory.
A key moment of the project will be the official signing of a twinning agreement between the Municipality of Vipava and that of Savogna d'Isonzo, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of sustainable tourism, culture and art.
In the second part of the event, Professor Jurij Rosa gave a presentation on the Slovenian priest and composer Stanko Premrl, a figure not widely known even among Slovenians. Although the poet France Prešeren wrote the lyrics of the Slovenian national anthem Zdravljica, it was Premrl who composed the music, a fact often overlooked. The BEroots project aims to also highlight his contributions, with the House Zdravljica in Podnanos to be dedicated to him once its restoration is completed.
The event concluded with an operational meeting among the project partners to define the next steps of the project.
The invitation is available in Italian and Slovenian language only.
