On June 4, 2025, the event “Capacity building for companies in the management of fibre-reinforced composite waste” took place at the Urban Center in Trieste, as part of the RECREATE project.
The meeting, organized in a phygital format (both in-person and online), began at 10:00 AM with opening remarks by Tiziana Perin from the Upper Adriatic Technology Park. This was followed by a presentation from Franco Mioni (GEES Recycling), who illustrated the recovery opportunities of fibre-reinforced composite (FRC) materials and concrete examples of circular economy applications. Stefania De Santi (APRE – Agency for the Promotion of European Research) then discussed European policies and funding opportunities related to the circular transition.
The Q&A session, open to both in-person and Zoom participants, was moderated by Ana Dragičević (OZS) and allowed for an active and engaging discussion before the event concluded at 12:15. Overall moderation was handled by Matteo Feruglio (SDGZ-URES).
The event was well attended and proved to be a valuable occasion for training, knowledge exchange, and updates for businesses and stakeholders involved in composite waste management in the cross-border area.
