The house where Pier Paolo Pasolini took his first steps toward his cultural education opens up to a new dimension. As of Monday, July 13, Casa Colussi is not only a place of memory and research dedicated to the writer, but also a space where technology becomes a tool for knowledge, emotion, and participation. The new Immersive Room of the Pier Paolo Pasolini Study Center in Casarsa della Delizia has been inaugurated: a cutting-edge digital infrastructure that will offer visitors a completely new way to enter the universe of the poet, director, narrator, and intellectual who marked the 20th century.
The inauguration represents an important milestone in the growth path of the Study Center and Casa Colussi, enriching their cultural offerings with an environment capable of combining research, innovation, and outreach. The new Immersive Room does not limit itself to merely telling Pasolini's story; it invites the public to live an engaging experience where images, sounds, words, and documents converse with one another to convey the complexity of his figure and the relevance of his thought today.
The heart of the installation is a large ultra-high-definition LED screen (12 meters) that surrounds the visitor in a narrative built through a meticulous assembly of interviews, rare audio recordings, little-known audiovisual materials, photographs, and archival images—drawing in particular from the extensive archives of Cinemazero in Pordenone and the Study Center itself. What emerges is an authentic and multifaceted portrait of Pasolini: the poet of Friulian origins, the director, the man of letters, the polemicist, the intellectual capable of questioning his own time, and above all the man, with the power of his ideas, his contradictions, and his extraordinary ability to still speak to the present.
The contents were curated by Riccardo Costantini (Cinemazero) and Francesco Guazzoni with Alessandro Pasian, while the technology was provided by VideoMobile srl.
The initiative looks beyond geographical borders to build a network of places, experiences, and relationships that unites Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia through the figure of Pasolini, transforming the lands of his formative years into an innovative cultural destination with international appeal.
In line with this European vocation, the experience is available in Italian, Slovenian, and English, making the Pasolinian heritage accessible to an ever-wider audience and fostering dialogue between different cultures. The new infrastructure thus represents not only a technological investment, but also a tool to expand the opportunities for learning about and enhancing a cultural legacy that belongs to Europe.
