On the occasion of this year's edition of the "OPEN Boundary/ODPRTA MEJA 1981-2024" event, the Municipality of San Dorligo della Valle-Dolina and the Občina Hrpelje-Kozina Municipality are organising on Thursday 21 March 2024 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. educational workshops organised within the framework of the European project ENGREEN2 - Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia, reserved for pupils of the fifth grade of primary schools in the two organising municipalities at the Visitor Centre of the Rosandra Valley Nature Reserve-Dolina Glinščice in Bagnoli della Rosandra-Boljunec.
The educational workshops represent a unique opportunity to educate young people on the topics of cross-border cooperation, protecting and promoting cultural and natural heritage, environmental issues and the discovery by young people themselves of the environmental beauties of the Rosandra Valley-Dolina Glinščice Nature Reserve, as well as the fact that the event represents a meeting point for numerous school classes from various schools in both countries involved.
On Sunday, 24 March 2024, the traditional walk along the Friendship Trail-Steza prijateljstva will be held. The start on the Italian side will be at 10 a.m. from the square of the Visitor's Centre of the Rosandra Valley Nature Reserve in Bagnoli. On the Slovenian side, the walk will start at 9 a.m. from Beka. The two groups will meet in Bottazzo-Botač at 11 a.m., with a handshake between the authorities of the two municipalities.
It will then continue to Beka in Slovenia, where the presentation of the Engreen2 project and a convivial moment with the musical group Duo limit is scheduled at 1 p.m. In the event of bad weather, the walk will remain unchanged, but the planned programme in Beka will be cancelled.
