On 6 March 2024, the MEDS GARDEN+ project made its debut to the general public with the first joint cross-border event and the participation of all partners.
At the "Orto giardino-cucinare" exhibition in Pordenone, coordinated by the lead partner, Scuola Centrale Formazione, and with fine-tuned organisation by its members CIVIFORM of Cividale del Friuli and Fondazione Opera Sacra Famiglia from Pordenone, a cooking show and an educational sensory workshop took place.
"FROM THE GARDEN TO THE PLATE: COOKING WITH WILD HERBS. COOKING SHOW AND TASTINGS" was the title of the first activity, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., with the spontaneous herbs expert chef, Ennio Furlan, author of several publications on the subject, the CIVIFORM brigade, composed of chef-teachers Amorino Michelutti and Salvatore Infurna and their students.
"THREE SENSES TO DISCOVER AND RECOGNISE AROMATIC HERBS" is the theme of the second activity, aimed particularly at children and their families, led by Walter Fantuz from the Opera Sacra Famiglia Foundation, with the collaboration of Jana Zvelpan and Lorenzo Favia, experts respectively from KZ Agraria and Giardino del Chiostro.
All 60 seats in the Arena Pordenone with Love were sold out, with a packed audience from both project areas. Among the guests from Slovenia, together with the partner Municipality City of Nova Gorica, the event had the pleasure of hosting the Biotehniška šola from Šempeter pri Gorici, member of Šolski center Nova Gorica.
