On Saturday, 7 June, we participated in the traditional Descent for a Clean River, organised by the Mrzla Uoda Rafting Club. We paddled down the Bistrica and Reka rivers, made a few stops, cleaned the banks and enjoyed nature.
This year we noticed that there was less waste than in previous years, which confirms that the constant efforts of the organisers and participants are really paying off. The river is cleaner and we are even more motivated to continue.
The PALLIPES project team participated in the event because they are committed to the conservation of the crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes). This sensitive species only lives in clean water, so any such initiative is an important step in protecting its natural habitat.
After the descent, we enjoyed a convivial time in the clubhouse, where there was no lack of laughter, good conversation and the shared feeling of having done something good for nature. 🌿
Thank you to everyone who participated!
