The comparative cross-border study on eco-anxiety and resilience, carried out within the framework of the RE-ACTIVE project (co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme) and coordinated by the Italian Union, the partner responsible for WP1, is moving forward.
In June 2026, the survey of the population of the Coastal Municipalities, the Isonzo/Soča area and the Karst was completed. In August, the Institute for Social Research (IRS), commissioned to carry out the study, provided an initial analysis of the results, together with the relevant methodological and statistical documentation.
The research is now entering its qualitative phase. During the summer, the mapping and engagement of local stakeholders began, including representatives of public institutions, research organisations, associations and civil society organisations. The coming months will be dedicated to interviews and focus groups, which will provide further insight into the findings of the survey and gather the experiences and perspectives of different stakeholders across the cross-border area. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between climate change, risk perception, eco-anxiety and resilience, linking the data collected with the experiences of the communities and territories involved.
